I have a few days off while in Denmark after playing the Roskilde Festival. Tossed my phone on the ground in a beautiful park in Central Copenhagen a couple days ago while laying in the sun next to my wife and listening to Lowercase Noises – video is from that. Audio I recorded this morning using a new to me Meris Hedra.
Recording process was a main guitar loop, recorded into my little mobile interface (Bandlab Link Analog) and then dumped down onto a cassette tape. I recorded that output back from the cassette to get that more analog / hiss / warm sound for the basis of the track. The other layers are guitar straight into the interface and then re-amped using Helix Native in Garageband.
Interesting note: I didn’t do anything to this video other than some basic color processing, the clouds are moving this speed in real time. I took a time lapse video as well but it’s incredibly obnoxious and disorienting because they are flying by so quickly. The weather in Copenhagen is really wild.
